The Herald's Cuban anti-Cuban pitbull, Ana Menendez, has apparently been awarded a Fulbright fellowship in Egypt and will be abroad for one year according to an internal Herald memo published at BabaluBlog.com.
...Ana will be leaving us for one year to teach American Studies at the American University in Cairo...No word on who will be the next occupant of Jack Kofoed's chair in the newsroom will be.
When she returns, Ana will move into a new role as an international correspondent, focusing on Latin America. This means we will be looking for a Metro columnist...

Not to worry. The Herald, as always, will find a suitably anti-exile nominal Cuban to take her place. Unless, of course, it's finally figured out that seriously offending a large segment of its potential public is bad for business.
