That's still worthy of noting. It turns out that a tape of an off-the-record conversation with former Miami Dolphins and current University of Alabama head coach Nick Saban was leaked by Herald Sports Reporter Jeff Darlington to local talk radio. The tape which contained Saban using the expression "coonass" which is a derrogatory term for Cajuns from Louisiana has caused a bit of a controversy for Saban who has since publicly apologized for using the word.
I guess "off the record" doesn't really mean "off the record" to some at 1 Herald Plaza.

It depends on how you define "off" and "record," and possibly even how you define "the." I'm sure Bill Clinton would understand.
