Cenziper wins Pulitzer

As expected, Herald Reporter Debbie Cenziper's work reporting corruption at Miami-Dade County's public housing agency brought the Herald a Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting.

Congratulations to Ms. Cenziper and to her editor Michael Sallah. South Florida deserves more of this type of investigative reporting.

Will we get it?

A job well done.

The mystery, though, is why we don't see more of this type of reporting in the Herald and other local media. "Discovering" corruption in Miami-Dade government has to be as easy as shooting fish in a barrel.

Pulitzer-winner Cenziper leaves Miami Herald for WP

Broward-Palm Beach New Times

Debbie Cenziper, who won a Pulitzer on Monday, says: ''The Herald has known for several months and they were just gracious enough to let me stay on to finish the housing series." Bob Norman notes: "The Miami Herald-Washington Post pipeline has been up and running for decades, so this should hardly come as a surprise."
